G4S Botswana Hosts executive Leadership Programme in Kasane
With operations in 116 countries G4S Botswana was delighted to have been selected to host the G4S
Global Leadership Program - Conference which was held in Kasane Mowana Lodge.
The G4S Global Leadership Program is one of the most prestigious Executive Leaderships Programs in the world and is coordinated by G4S plc, in con-junction with Manchester Business School in The United Kingdom.
Botswana was selected following a competitive bid from the 116 countries in which G4S operates. The Botswana operation is proud to be part of a Global company with has a turnover of close to BWP 72Billion.
For Botswana to be selected was a clear indication of G4S plc’s commitment to Africa where it employs over 120 000 employees.With more than 44,000 supervisory and managerial employees globally, who manage a workforce which totals 540 000 , the Program strives to broaden the knowledge, skills and capability of “high potential” business leaders of the future, and expose them to a wide range of ideas, experiences, situations and challenges, so that they may be better-prepared for the complex and demanding roles to which they aspire.
The level of managerial and supervisory employees varies across the different regions and this is due to different geographic spread and service density as well as the degree to
which technology is used as part of the customer solution.
The G4S Global Leaderships Program has won various international Awards and has been shortlisted
for prestigious international awards. In 2006 the program won the “Best executive development
program” category at the “HR Excellence Awards 2006” , in the same year the program was
shortlisted finalist for the “ Global Achievement” category at the “CBI Human Capital Awards
2006”. Then in 2007 it was once again shortlisted as a finalist for the “International Award” category
at the “ HR Excellence Awards”.
The Global Leadership program which runs for two years per cohort has 20 participants on the Cohort
3. The Cohort 3 participants are coming from Botswana, Kenya, Canada, America, Belgium, Lithuania,
Greece, Poland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, India , Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Latin America.
Botswana was the second country in Africa to host the Global Leadership Program.
